Oundle’s Jubilee Plans Firmly in Place

Oundle is running a two-day celebration as organised by Oundle Town Council with the help of the Fletton Field Association. On the Friday a Sports Day will take place throughout the town and will include cricket, football, tennis, bowls, a swimming gala, netball, basketball, and others. The winners will be presented with trophies on Saturday in the Market Place.

On Saturday, the day will be split into two halves. It starts from 10am to 2.30pm with “Dancing in the Street” where a vintage market with food stalls, funfair and 3 sound stages playing music for a variety of tastes in and around the town centre is planned. N.B. There will be street closures in the town centre. And for retailers there is a Best Dressed Shop Front Competition. With union jack bunting up the whole town is invited to get involved by wearing fancy dress celebrating the Queen’s seventy-year reign giving us all an opportunity to participate and enter the celebratory spirit.

From 3 pm the party moves to Fletton Field, where there is more entertainment with local bands, a beer and cider tent, some food stalls gearing up to watch the Buckingham Palace concert on a big screen. Tickets are required for this part of the event even though they are free – make sure you have yours! you can reserve them here: www.loveoundle.org/events/platinum-fun-in-the-field
